Our New Sign

When we moved into our new facility in January of 2022, we had plenty to keep us busy getting set up and finding our new groove. Putting up a permanent sign wasn’t at the top of the list. It’s a little embarrassing how long we went without one—but we finally got it done, and we’re very happy with how it turned out.

The finished product

The backbone of the sign is a heavy, curved Corten steel column rising out of the ground. Imposing and strong, this element reflects our commitment to quality—build it strong and never cut corners. Passing through the center of the column are two fabricated boxes, creating a visual intersection of strength and precision. Attached to these boxes, the artwork—cut from 1/2″ plate and painted white—stands out in bold relief. Together, these elements, set against the raw, weathered column, highlight both durability and craftsmanship, showcasing the finesse and attention to detail that we apply to all our projects.

MIG welding the Corten steel column

The Corten steel, also known as weathering steel, is a low-alloy steel designed to develop a surface rust that protects against deeper corrosion. Initially bright orange, the finish gradually darkens over time to a deep bronze or nearly black. Because of its durability and distinctive appearance, Corten steel is commonly used in landscaping and architectural applications.

Laser welding the boxes

The intersecting boxes are made from carbon steel panels, welded together using our laser fusion welder and then sanded smooth for a clean, refined finish.

The final step was painting the boxes and artwork and assembling everything into the finished piece.

Now that it’s in place, the sign does more than mark our location—it tells a story. It reflects who we are, what we value, and the kind of work we strive to deliver every day. Built to last, with strength where it matters and attention to detail where it counts, it’s a fitting representation of what we do here at AquaJet.
